MARCUS GREATHEART MD, MSW, RSW
As a registered social worker I provide counselling to individuals & couples from many communities. Much of my work focuses on communication, relationships and the significant milestones & transitions in life.
Some of my practice focuses on clients who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, and those who have questions about their sexual identity. As a trans-ally, I also see transgender people seeking support with transition and the everyday non-trans issues. I also work with those living alternative lifestyles and in non-traditional and polyamorous relationships.
NOTE: The size of my practice is limited as I am currently in a 2-year residency program in Family Medicine at the University of British Columbia. I hold a Medical Degree, but I am not yet an independently licensed physician.
I provide counselling strictly as a registered social worker; this does not include medical examination or consultation.
***Appointments available for short-term, goal-oriented counselling in January to March, 2016.
In person and online worldwide.
As a community-based counsellor, I can meet you in your home, workplace, or any other quiet and confidential location in the Vancouver area. We can also meet at a confidential space downtown.
Skype or Facetime
I work with clients from across Canada, the US and around the world over the Internet. This convenient and effective counselling option is available for people who don't want geography to get in the way of getting the counselling they want and need. Clients in more rural settings, those with mobility restrictions or have a busy schedule due to home or work responsibilities may also find this technology useful.
With my clients I celebrate the complexities that unique individuals bring to the intimacy and relationships shared with friends, lovers, partners and families of choice. I can help you navigate through a sometimes unwelcoming world to live an affirmed, authentic and amazing life. I use Narrative and Strengths-based practice in my work, and I'm a Level 1 AEDP therapist accredited through the Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).
